The course aims to discuss the multiple conceptual formulations of globalisation on the society and examine the political economy of the globalisation. The course also analyzes the impact of globalisation on diverse facets of social communities in India. 

1.    To inform students about the multiple conceptualizations of globalisation.  
2.    To engage students with the different impacts of globalisation on diverse spheres of life.
3.    To enable students to examine the specific impact of globalisation on Indian society.  
4.    To equip students to analyse the emerging contestations and discontents experienced as a result of the processes of globalisation .
