This introductory course focuses on improving the knowledge base of the students on the approaches to rural development through various plans and programmes for Rural Development in India.   By the end of the course, the students would be acquainted with core vision for rural development, planning for rural development in India, and programmes for rural development.

1.    Gain an understanding about the potential of rural development in India
2.    Demonstrate a critical understanding of vision and approaches for rural development 
3.    Understand the significance of programmes for rural development and critically reflect on challenges in implementation
