About the Course
The course introduces gender studies from a broad perspective. The first module introduces basic concepts of sex, gender and sexuality, women empowerment and education sector. The second module reviews Women in STEM sector technology and labour as well as household work. The third module gives a broad introduction to various forms of violence against women with a special reference to domestic violence and dowry.
Course Objectives/ Outcomes
1. Analyse the definitions and understandings of including law of sex, gender and sexuality.
2. Engage with spatial, social and institutional cultures of gender violence.
3. Analyze the intersection of women and work including domestic and caregiving work.
4. Examine the social, spatial analysis of women in STEM with case studies
