About the Course
The course enables students to equip with knowledge and skills on ethics in the conduct of research and principles and practices of scientific conduct and research integrity. It provides insights into the ethical approach to planning, process, analysis and communication of research for scientific conduct. The course will also build capacity for undertaking research in ethical manner and making ethical decisions based onthis understanding.The Research and Publication Ethics course is structured into 6 comprehensive units, each delving into aspects of research ethics, integrity, and responsible scientific research and publication practices.

1. Introduce learners to Philosophy and history ethics and moral behavior in connection to bioethics and research ethics.
2. Appraise concepts and principles of research ethics enabling learners to connect with research conduct
3. Equip the knowledge on ethical conduct of scientific research and publications to imply in research practices
4. Enable to identify and differentiate the best practices, standards and guidelines in publication ethics
5. Introduce Open access publication initiatives, open science framework and software tools to enable distinguishing appropriate scientific tools for ethical researchconduct and journal selection
6. Enable learners to identify and select appropriate tools and determine different databases and research metrics.

Ph.D /other Research Scholars of all Disciplines (University of Hydreabad)
Course Requirements
The Course can be taken as the PhD course work requirement for the PhD research scholars currently in their 1st to 4th semesters(i.e., within the first two years of their PhD program with the recommendation from the supervisor).
Other research scholars engaged in research or Phd scholars from 5th semester and later who have completed their course work, but keen to enroll in the course to deepen knowledge and skills can also apply.
